Tips & Tricks

Hi everyone,

As we are about to sign off for the holidays and enjoy some time off with our families, here are some tips and tricks we thought would come in handy:

Motion Sickness

Our latest patch 1.1.105 on Steam adds many new features in the game options that will help with motion sickness in the rare case you would be affected by it.

To prevent Motion Sickness, we invite you to do the following:

  • Don’t hide the crosshair

  • Disable the smooth camera rotation

  • Disable Motion Blur (now off by default with 1.1.105)

  • Disable head bobbing

  • Setup the FOV according to your distance to the screen:

    • If you play on PC (less than 1m / 3.2 ft away): default FOV is 90º . Try to adjust it if you still get motion sickness.

    • If you play on consoles (more than 2m / 6.4 ft away): default FOV is 75º. In the console version you cannot change the FOV settings, so move a bit farther from the screen.

Miscellaneous

  • Player is unable to interact with objects or stuck in interaction screen

Please turn Vertical Sync on, this should make this issue disappear. Pause the game, go to Options → Graphics → Vertical Sync ON.

  • Player is unable to set 4K resolution

This is a bug, but a work-around that should work for now is to go to Windows resolution settings. Set the zoom level to 100% or the normal value (not increased) and then start Call of the Sea, go to graphical settings and change to windowed mode, change to 4K resolution and the window should now be scaled up to 4K.
